Rayquaza is a Legendary dual-type Dragon/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation III. Known as the Sky High Pokémon, Rayquaza is part of the weather trio along with Kyogre and Groudon. It is also the trio master, as it has the power to quell the other two's endless fighting and destructive weather effects. Rayquaza is serpentine in shape with yellow-green body covering. It has red-tipped, rudder-like wings on its shoulders and down its body, and similarily patterned fins on the tip of its tail. These red areas can emit a shinning glow. It's known to live within the ozone layer, where it flies endlessly and rarely comes down to the ground. In terms of Mega Evolution, Rayquaza is unique. It doesn't need to hold a specific Mega Stone to achieve its Mega Evolution, unlike most other Pokémon. Instead, when it knows the move Dragon Ascent, it can Mega Evolve into Mega Rayquaza. The Mega Evolution amplifies its power significantly, and it undergoes significant physical changes as it grows longer, gains more streamlined features, and its body takes on an even more intimidating and fierce appearance.
